Florida deals waning as Georgia and California heat up
According to sources in Florida’s blueberry is transitioning to Georgia and California where berries should start to peak. Georgia’s berries may run late due to rains. Florida is expecting a large increase in volume over last year.
Spiech Farms Florida Packing House Anniversary
A year ago, Spiech Farms, a family-owned and operated grower out of Lawton, MI opened a new 20,000 sq ft blueberry packing facility near Brooksville, FL. The packing facility was designed to support expanding blueberry production in central Florida. Spiech Farms expansion into Florida has been driven by the ability of new blueberry cultivars to stand Florida’s warm, humid summers.
