The North Carolina Blueberry Council Membership Newsletter

First Edition – October 2013

** Purpose

Welcome to the first email news of what hopefully becomes a regular channel of information for North Carolina Blueberry Council membership. Unlike typical email newsletters, the focus here will be determined by the membership. The intent of this newsletter is to be part of a process that increases strengthens and build the North Carolina blueberry industry.

** How You Can Help:

We would appreciate hearing from the membership. Your informational shares are crucial to the content delivered. The source is not as important as the sharing. In other words, please share, especially if the information may benefit the overall blueberry industry in North Carolina.

** For Example:

About the time the first blueberries were ready, the North Carolina Blueberry Council launched two new websites. For the consumer market, http://northcarolinablueberries.com promotes all things good about North Carolina Blueberries. A unique web resource for producers and other members can be found at: http://ncblueberrycouncil.org/

Both of these sites are designed to be mobile-friendly.

** Other Notes:

Currently this email is being produces in plain text. That is to make it easy to read and fast to load, especially if you access the internet on a mobile devices. We will alternate a “pretty” with images version and let the membership decide what style is preferred.

** What else is going on?

For our consumer site, we could use any pictures, current or historic, that share unique aspects of North Carolina blueberries. The idea is to “plant” blueberries in minds everywhere.

We are also looking for favorite blueberry recipes to be shared on the consumer site. Do you have a great recipe that will cause someone to go out and buy some blueberries? Appropriate credit and links shared.
